Many of you responded and enjoyed my last Blog (Cruise Control) from Friday and I (We) appreciate all of your hilarious responses to my what you called, 'Hilarious' writing...I am sure that more clever thoughts will emerge later on the subject.
Today is a special Blog dedicated to mom - not just my own beloved mother (Although she does not actually read my Blog - She is not

Mom The National Holiday
Well, is it just me or does this day appear to be growing in stature? Mother's Day is truly becoming a celebratory event - somehow the cards and flowers have suddenly become questionable in adequacy and no longer measure up to the high standards in which the day is evolving.
Which presents the question, is it really possible to express a lifetime of joy, teenage aggravation, and gratitude to your mother with just a card or a bouquet of flowers - when expressed in this manner, the meaningless gifts seem largely superficial do they not?
Soon enough, we are careening on the path of having a national holiday in honor of mother and will subsequently receive yet another 3-day holiday weekend to celebrate all things mom.
TV for Mom
So on this special day, it is only befitting that we have programming in honor of mom and here is what we can expect:
Lifetime Television:
I rarely ever have the pleasure of speaking about Lifetime (Although yes, we will be discussing Project Runway, as you have inquired within the past few weeks, we will focus on this special weekend of TV treats for your enjoyment).
Having said, the network is definitely headed for mainstream and is presenting very appealing shows - As well, I assure you that we will have much more to discuss in the near future about this burgeoning network and its' plethora of coming attractions.
While most of the other networks are simply airing regular shows, interspersed with greetings and well wishes, Lifetime is dedicating the entire weekend to Mom with the "Mother Knows Best" movie festival hosted by Comedian Angela Hoover, up until 10 PM this evening.
The special line-up includes the premiere of the Melora Harding (The Office) starrer called, Me, Mom, Dad and Her, How To Deal starring Mandy Moore, and later the dramatic series, Army Wives.
The Mom's Mom:
According to our friends at Lifetime, a recent Mother's Day poll was conducted in which respondents said that they most identified with television mom Claire Huxtable (Played by Phylicia Rashad) from the biggest hit show of the 80's "The Cosby Show".
It is quite amazing and wonderful that so many still closely identify with the character, even more than 20 years prior to this post!
As I am writing this Blog, I am having great fun also watching a webisode on MyLifetime.com called, Mommy Madness - how's that for multi-tasking?
NBC:
America's Favorite Mom. Well, I know that my favorite mom is my own, of course. However, I suppose that I can vote for someone else's Mother.
The show, to be hosted by America's Sweetest Siblings (-?) Donny and Marie Osmond, will feature five finalists who vie for the crown of (According to online votes) America's Favorite Mom. Thousands of moms have been nominated and tonight a winner will crowned in front of a live a studio audience.
According to NBC, the winning mom will take home thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, including an 18k gold heart-shaped "America's Favorite Mom" pendant trimmed with dazzling diamonds.
You can read more details about the show here on the NBC site:
