While On The Subject of AI...

I am hearing quite a lot about American Idol. Some people love it and some hate it, but what is obvious is that people are watching the show and in TV land, that is the golden prize.

Many viewers are quick to mention that this season's opener is especially cruel and in-humane (Simon Cowell). Although I am not supporting Simon's method of critique, I will say in defense of my fellow producers, the contestants that appear on the show are fully aware of the format of the show and of Simon. The question becomes is being on Television worth a few moments of public humiliation? It's say to presume the same people watching the show would also participate in the show, if given the opportunity.
