Well, if you have not already heard the news, Armed & Famous has been cancelled. Surprised?
The show featured moderately known celebrities: Jack Osbourne (Son of Ozzie), Erik Estrada (Chips and Infomercial frontman), Trish Stratus (of WWE fame), LaToya Jackson (Michael's older sister), and "Wee man" (Jason Acuna), playing Police Officers in a relatively unknown town (Muncie, Indiana).
According to reports, 4 episodes of the show officially aired on CBS. Quite frankly, I thought the show would have been better on TV Land and was quite disappointed that CBS would air the show during Prime Time. When competing with the American Idols, Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance shows of the world, you really have to present something stronger!
I am going help out my fellow producers on few things that may have made a difference:
1. How about casting well-known, but not currently working celebrities - Thinking Naomi Campbell, Jon Bon Jovi, Joe Pesci, Sam Jackson, John Travolta, Lil' Kim, Martha Stewart, and Regis Philbin.
2. Change of location - Thinking Miami, it's exotic and sexy (No offense to Muncie).
3. Action sequences - Thinking car chases (Tons), explosions and daring rescues.
4. Belligerent arrestees - while you are busy casting this great ensemble of celebrities, you also have to spend more time casting "Bad guys" - they should be difficult not star struck. Just watch a few episodes of "Cops" and you will get the point.
